What is Team Challenge?

Team Challenge is a fun inter-club competition designed for youth tennis players. Players do not have to be affiliated or be club members so all are welcome mates, school friends or kids from other clubs. Summer events take place at Finchley Manor winter events take place indoors or outdoors depending on the weather at Hazelwood tennis club. Players are assigned a team and compete for points over a short series of matches, each event has an overall team winner and at the end of a series, we have an overall club winner. Plus every player gets to see their contribution. The focus is on fun, competitive matchplay.

Listed below are the Sunday dates for the next U14. Tap the register button and fill in your players details. On the Monday of the event week I will advise on the players selected for the team.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION!

If there is any reason that you can’t make the event, please provide as much notice as possible. The format only works if the required number of players participate. 

Event details

🎾 Duration 2 hours: 3 pm – 5 pm

🎾 Location: Hazelwood LTC, Indoors in the old balloon located at the rear of the tennis club.
Ridge Ave, London N21 2AJ

🎾 To avoid congestion in the balloon, I will ask parents to drop their players off and collect them from the balloon at the end of the event.

Format

🎾Tie Break fifteen round robin singles and doubles 

🎾Ball type: Yellow ball 

🎾Each player will partner with every other player in the same team and play against every player in the other team. Players are ranked to provide an even matchup

Point factor

🎾Tie break win: 3 points.

🎾Tie break loss: 1 point

🎾 Results Factor: 1 (every point you win is awarded to you

🎾Results Differential: 1 (This is the stinger. The results differential is multiplied by the score difference, e.g. 10 -5 gives the winner +5 * diff and the loser – 5 * diff.

Cost

🎾  Cost: £13 PP per event via Monzo, BACS or cash on the day
